Pop Singer Angie Maserati on journey to the quarterfinals of “The Opening Act”

"There weren't a lot of examples of thriving, really killing it in motherhood. It's different now with people who have already made it. Everyone knows that J-Lo has her twins, you know, and that's fantastic. She wasn't trying to make it and have her kids. She'd already made it. I'd like to be the other side of that story. I'd like to be that "she's 49-years-old, three children, passionate as ever. The fire is burning out of control and is relevant, lit up, hungry, excited, dreaming and reality."

Angie Maserati’s quest from headliner to Audacy’s Opening Act

"With this platform of benefitting the American Suicide Prevention Foundation...having to pretend to be something to please a group of people--sometimes it's your own family, friend group of whatever. And denying truth or some parts of yourself...you're afraid that you won't be enough and that you won't be loved anymore. That's so painful and creates circumstances that it's better to end their life."

Bay Area singer Angie Maserati on the inspiration to go for it in life without turning back

"I was in bands where I was doing 100 shows a year. Cover bands--singing other peoples music and stories which I love. I make them all my own. I forget that Steve Perry sings 'Don't stop Believing' and I feel like it's my song at this point. But that wasn't the dream. It was cutting it short to be safe to make sure everyone was happy. And then when I remembered what it was I really dreamt of my whole life--what I really, really wanted. I had to do it."

Bay Area Musician and Acting Coach Bobby Weinapple Debuts Post-Pandemic Inspirational Song

"It's really interesting if we don't chose where we place our focus, we tend to focus on negative things. If there are 100 people in the audience and 99 of them are our friends, our family and loved ones and one of them is a critic from The Chronicle, where's your focus going to be?....We all were cavemen thousands of years ago and the way we survived: we cam out of cave and we'd look around and and we'd say is there anything out there that's gonna eat us?"

Preview of Songs of Berlin with Jazz Composer Jack Cooper

"Sometimes you have a mental block or not getting to where you want to be. I put it down for a little bit, Dave. I'll let is gestate in my subconscious and I just go to sleep. I usually wake up in the morning or the next morning and it comes to me. So I kind of allow the computer to work on it in the subconscious...and I come back to it and it's like 'Ohhhhhhhh, that's what I really want.' And it starts to write itself after that.

Bay Area Singer/Songwriter Brooke Michael Smith Stays Hopeful During COVID-19 Pandemic

"Everyone is dealing with some version of isolation and we're all kind of in the same boat. I know some people certainly have it harder than others...and I know with all the loss, there's certainly an opportunity for renewal. I'd like to think you'd have to think that way. Otherwise, what do you have. You have to go where the hope is."
