Seattle Storm CEO and General Manager Alisha Valavanis

Prepping for a virtual rally after winning the franchise’s fourth WNBA championship, Seattle Storm CEO and General Manager Alisha Valavanis looks back on a season unlike any other–playing an entire regular season and the playoffs in the bubble of Bradenton, Florida. Valavanis speaks to Dave about the team and league mission to bring awareness to racial injustice during the season and beyond. As one of six siblings from Valparaiso, Indiana, Alisha learned the importance of teamwork with those lessons applying to basketball and business. Much of her motivation and focus comes from her twin sister, her backcourt teammate at Chico State–learning to stay true to her passion and keep the eyes on the prize. Valavanis also raves about how the city of Seattle has embraced the franchise and what’s next in the quest to win one for the thumb.
