Zack Bayrouty Reflects on his Major League Debut Behind the Mic

"It was pretty surreal. I remember pulling up and I was trying to convince myself that I belong there that day. And it's obviously humbling to get to do something like this. Not a lot of people get that opportunity and I was trying to convince myself, 'You can do this.'

Stockton Ports radio play-by-play announcer Zack Bayrouty

Just like players remember how they got the call to The Show, Zack Bayrouty breaks down in graphic detail how he received the news that he was being promoted for a day to broadcast an Oakland Athletics game in September. Its taken 13 years of due paying–long bus rides and late nights to get his shot and Bayrouty made the most of it. He reflects on his journey, support team and why Stockton has become so special. Bayrouty is classic example of how good things happen to good people.
